Organic Tea

White tea :White tea became revered during China's Song Dynasty (960-1279). It was the choice of the royal court and was given as tribute to the emperor. White tea leaves and buds were ground into a silvery powder, which was then whisked in bowls during the Song Tea Ceremony. This was the inspiration for the famous Japanese Tea Ceremony.

White tea has come a long way in its long history. It was largely unknown outside China and the Orient until recently. It is the most subtle of all the varieties of tea, using only the finest tea leaves from each bush with a minimal amount of processing. Research studies show that white tea is 10% more effective in improving immune health than its green cousin.

The brew has a light, delicate, slightly sweet flavor that sharpens the senses without overwhelming the tongue. It has less caffeine than black or green tea, and far less than coffee, making it an excellent choice for those wishing to reduce caffeine intake.

Sweet osmanthus : This native Chinese flower is grown organically. Long used for its health benefits as well as for aromatic and cosmetic purposes, this flower can range in color from white to yellow-orange to red, but the yellow-orange variety is thought to be the most desirable. Its extract is commonly used for many things from scenting cosmetics to flavoring candy. The finest extract, called osmanthus absolute, is very expensive and only used in the finest perfumes.

This tea produces light yellow liquor and a very sweet smell. It smells faintly like the aroma from someone’s cooking of a sweet dessert. They are surprisingly sweet with an apricot taste.

This yellow-orange type of osmanthus is highest in carotenoids, the same substance found in orange colored vegetables and leafy green vegetables. Beta-carotene, the most well-known carotenoids, is converted to Vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is best known for helping the body to maintain proper eyesight, but it also assists the immune system to resist infection. Carotenoids also curtail free-radicals in the body, which increase the body's resistance to cancer.

Japanese Bancha macrobiotic tea : For over 800 years Japan's finest teas have grown around the town of Uji, which is located on the old road between the ancient capitals of Nara and Kyoto, about 230 miles southwest of Tokyo. Birthplace of both Japanese green tea and the tea ceremony, Uji's rich, slightly acidic soil is ideal for growing tea. Off the main road, on a hill overlooking Uji, the manicured look of the plantations below gives way to fields of lumpy, irregular rows of tea plants - the remote, centuries-old tea plantations of the Nagata organic tea coop, producers of Mitoku's organic Bancha tea by following the principles of an agricultural method known as nature farming.

Twig tea Bancha tea, traditionally folklore suggests that this beverage has a soothing, beneficial effect on digestion, blood quality, and the mind, serving as macrobiotic healing tonics, ranging from alkalizing the blood to relieving hangovers. Chemical analysis of the Bancha twigs has shown that the tea may be a good source of calcium, iron, and vitamins A and C, and because it has very little caffeine, it is safe for children and infants to drink.

Organic Tany Ray Tea : The history of tea drinking can be traced back to thousands of years ago. Up to now, hundreds of tea-producing handicrafts are still preserved among Chinese tea producers.
